Official: Pablo Hernandez transfers to Swansea AFC
Its official, Valencia CF and Swansea City AFC have reached an agreement over the transfer of Pablo Hernandez to Swansea City AFC.
Finally this saga closes and we can move on. Pablo Hernandez was firm that he wanted to leave Valencia CF and join Swansea and so as I reported previously Braulio realized that having a player that didn't want to be in Valencia CF will only be detrimental to the team as a whole and decided on selling him.
There were some rumors towards the end that Pablo might stay after all and that Swansea backed down, but we now know those reports were lies.
As I said previously, I think this is a good move, as having a frustrated Pablo in the team would have been really bad and same as if he wasn't here. So a good move, the reported fee is 7 million euros and that is acceptable. I valued Pablo Hernandez at 8 million euros on my latest update, so we are one million short, but the options rather limited here.

Paco to Getafe, Pablo to Swansea
Valencia CF technical director Braulio Vasquez talked to Mauricio Pellegrino and convinced him that this is the best option, since Pellegrino has said all along that he wants Paco to stay.
I think its probably the best option as well, I mean we've seen the past two games, Paco wasn't even in the squad and so instead of not playing at all, he'd get more chance at Getafe. There is always risk of having some of the attacker injured, but we are covered nicely, as we have Canales and Viera to play as AM and Piatti who can play pretty much everywhere.
Pablo Hernandez is close to leaving Valencia CF and transferring to Swansea City AFC, Pablo reiterated his stance on leaving once more, so Braulio has decided its best to let him got, rather than have a player in the team that doesn't want to be there.
I think this is a good solution, I actually said that letting Pablo go would be best, wrote about it in the forum, you should join if you still haven't. What I said is that Pablo wants to leave and has stated it numerous times, not selling him would just cause negativity and tension and he would pretty much be like if he wasn't here, he will not be motivated, he will be bitter and is likely to cause troubles in the dressing room as well.
Plus Valencia CF should have players that don't want to be there in the team, simple as that. So I think selling Pablo is the best option and if we get 7 million euros for him, would be pretty good for us. I rate him at 8 million euros, so anything lower than that is a loss, but at this point there are no other options.

Valencia CF star players past, present and future
A friend and a fellow Valencia CF fan and website owner Adi recently wrote a pretty good article about Valencia CF and the "6 steps to success" on his website. I recommend people from the Balkans read it.
It wasn't an analysis of what needs to be done, more of a statement and affirmation of some, I'd say basic truths.
But I did find his first step titled "stars" unrealistic and impossible and if followed it would have destroyed the club. Now I know it was more of a statement for the future, but its important to know and understand the past, to be better prepared for the future.
So I decided to write an article, around his article and "stars" paragraphs and sort of rebuttal him on some points. Also I wanted to write something on this topic for quite a while, but just couldn't decide on the start, so his article gave me sort of the excuse.
Here is my English translation (believe me Google translate is terrible): "We won't bring in stars, we are going to have them by creating them, and that is something we(VCF) do great. In fact our new player, I'd say a star of the club is Aly Cissokho, and he is certainly going to remove any difficulties on the left back side that Pellegrino had by the sale of Alba to Barcelona. The biggest star of the club is of course Soldado and what amazing miracle that Llorente didn't fall for the 30 million euro bid from Tottenham. We've even heard from the administration that they want Goldado to finish his career at Valencia(stay alive and see it to believe it). This summer only Alba left from the important players, which many supporters think was overrated anyways.
Selling of best players to Barcelona and Real Madrid
Speaking of Alba we must mention the key reason why Valencia CF can't have the same results as "their" dear Real and Barcelona, and that is because the club must, I repeat must stop selling players to Real and Barcelona, young players as well as senior team players. Its not allowable the weakening of Valencia to strengthen Real and Barcelona more and more. Last players who went to these clubs were Joel and two cadets which Barcelona "stole" from us. Okay, when we look at Joel he wasn't that important player for Valencia, but is surely a huge potential, and he went to Real Madrid C team and its a big question is if he is ever going to reach Castille and not to mention the A team.
Albiol, Villa and Alba would surely have been the backbone of the club if they stayed, if we add in here Silva and Mata, who went to England, and current players we get one respectable team who would give any team huge problems no matter where its played."
Now first of all Valencia CF hasn't really lost any key players to Real Madrid or Barelona, in fact quite the contrary as Valencia CF has gained quite a bit of players from Real Madird and to a lesser degree Barcelona. If we do a basic count we have Alba coming from Barcelona youth team, Mata coming from Real Madrid youth team, Parejo, Soldado, Canales and even Gago just recently coming from Real Madrid and/or at some point in their career. So whether directly or indirectly I'd say Valencia CF has actually benefited more, than they have lost in this regard.
It goes beyond saying of course that youth talent should be protected, but this has more to do with a stupid Spanish rule that kids bellow 16 years old can't sign professional contracts and less to do with Valencia CF or any other team. If teams are to protect their youth players the Spanish government needs to get rid of this ridiculous rule.
The bigger picture here though is that Valencia CF was in a situation where it had to sell in order to survive. If you need to blame someone its going to be previous Valencia CF presidents, but even more than that the Spanish football rush, where teams didn't care about their finances, until they found themselves bankrupt and fighting to survive. Thing is the sales of David Villa and David Silva as bad as they seemed, did bring in 70 million euros to Valencia CF coffers and actually strengthened the team. I know it sounds strange, but I actually explained it in the preseason report from 2010/11 season and if you search it you can read about it. I wrote then that by having these big names leave, the team feels more like a team, rather than a collection of individuals and this is especially the case when the team is not winning any silverware, the stars become liabilities and start to become reckless and egoistical.
The sale of Mata brought in another 30 million euros, so for only 3 players Valencia CF racked up 100 million euros and saved the club from financial disaster, while at the same time keeping the strength level of the team intact, or at least quite equal with smart new purchases of cheap yet talented and skillful players.
But even bigger than that is the "stars" label. David Villa and David Silva were certainly stars, but either way they were only known in Spain and within the football world ranks, a casual follower of football, or even a strong follower from England or France didn't know about Villa and Silva, so they were stars, but "small" stars for a lack of better term.
Most stars are actually created in bigger clubs when they start playing there, before that even if they were considered stars it was only those who are ardent followers and read up on an array of news from different leagues.
This was actually the case with Villa and Silva as even though they were stars in their own right, they were not boosting global sales, they were not boosting the image of the club, they were not boosting support numbers. In fact I remember the day when Villa signed for Barcelona and read about it on soccernet, goal and few other sites of those kind and half and more of the people in the comments have never heard of David Villa before, some have heard, but only from the World Cup and didn't even know for which club he played. So not only did these stars not bring in anything to Valencia CF is terms of passage, but the fact that they were playing for us at a time where we weren't winning any trophy's was actually rather detrimental.
In fact the sales of Villa to Barcelona and Silva to Manchester City and then later Mata to Chelsea boosted the numbers of visitors to my blog tremendously and before that I've written every day about them and no where even close have the blog visits been.
So I'd say not only were the sales of our star players needed, they were absolutely necessary for the survival of the club and the consequential third consecutive third place finishes. Having said that I do agree that in the future Valencia CF needs to be more careful with its finances and I have high beliefs as long as Manuel Llorente and Braulio Vasquez stay we will be just fine in that regard. Furthermore due to our sales of star players in the past, we are now is a position to be able to not sell our new currents or rising star players and this was demonstrated by the rejection of the 30 million bid from Tottenham for Soldado.
It wasn't an analysis of what needs to be done, more of a statement and affirmation of some, I'd say basic truths.

Valencia CF 3-3 Deportivo La Coruna Match Report
Wow what can I say, other than this match was not supposed to go this way. What is for sure though is that we saw two different Valencia's, one in the first half which scored 3 goals and dominated proceedings and another than conceded 2 goals, lost all possession and barely survived with a draw.
The match started in a dominating fashion for Valencia CF, controlling the proceeding from the onset and would threaten Deportivo instantly with few good runs towards their goal. With all that domination it wouldn't be too long when Valencia CF would get their first goal of the match. Soldado would score, after being released by a great through ball by Jonas, passing the goalkeeper and calmly slotting the ball in the net.
Chance for Feghuoli in the 19th minute after a great cross by Joao Pereira found him perfectly, but he can't find anyone and the ball goes out of danger, only to get back to Jonas who goes in from the left side and crosses, but again the cross doesn't find anyone from Valencia CF there.
22nd minute great counter attack by Valencia CF, as Gago with a nice flick finds Feghuoli who runs forward and tries to cross twice, but he botches the crosses and basically hit the defending player twice.
27th minute brilliant goal from Soldado, after a brilliant action from the team. Tino flicks the ball perfectly for Jonas who avoids the offside trap and unselfishly bounces the ball to Soldado, who with an acrobatic move scores.
Ten minutes later though Deportivo La Coruna scores as Aguilar gets to the ball in a chaotic situation, after Joao Pereira failed to clear the corner kick with a header and the ball ended up around Aguilar, who nicely put the ball past Diego.
Gago would be replaced for some sort of injury I guess, hopefully its nothing serious and Parejo comes in his place and instant payoff as it was new sub Parejo who would provide the assist for Valencia CF third goal. Just after his arrival on the field Parejo provides a great through ball to Feghuoli who speeds past his defender and scores.
In the final minute Jonas with a great pass to Soldado, who finds himself alone on goal, but his shot is rather poor and hits the oncoming goalkeeper.
First half ended with Valencia CF leading 3-1 and the far better side so far.
Second half started in a similar fashion as the first half, in fact Soldado would have the first chance of the second half, after a mistake by Abel who provided a poor past towards the defense and Soldado was able to catch the ball, Soldado ran towards goal and tried to shoot, but his shot was blocked.
53rd minute Deportivo would start becoming more and more dangerous and Pizzi would fire a warning shot with his shot at goal, but Diego was alert and saves.
Just 2 minutes later Jonas would hit the crossbar, but the effort was deemed offside.
58th minute Aguilar would score his second goal of the match after another poor defending by Valencia CF. I mean it seemed like the whole defense was caught star gazing and none run to intercept the ball, especially here I'm looking at Ruiz or possibly Mathieu.
About 8 minutes later Pizzi would have another go at the goal, after Parejo looses the ball in the middle of the part with his clumsy shenanigans, he manages to shoot, but the Ruiz just manages to deflect the ball.
After constant pressure by Deportivo they would get their chance as the referee gave them a penalty, after Costa seemed to push one of the attackers down to the ground. Pizzi would step up to take it and would convert the penalty into goal. That was Costa's second yellow card by the way and automatic red, which means Valencia CF had to play with 10 players for the rest of the match.
84th minute Ruiz with a solo chance he created, passes to ball nicely to Parejo, but his shot is blocked and the rebound goes to Tino who shoots as well, but his effort is saved as well.
In the final minutes Bruno Gama has a solo run as well, gets away from his marker and manages to shoot at goal, but Diego with a good save.
That was in essence the match ladies and gentlemen and how things transpired more or less, but I can't finish here without at least a little bit of analysis of this match.
Obviously Valencia CF started great, controlled the proceedings, controlled possession and had great chances, converting 3 of them. The problems started showing up when Fernando Gago left and Parejo was introduced. Even though this actually payed off and Parejo provided the assist for Feghuoli's goal, it would come to hunt us in the second half.
First of all again we can see that neither Tino Costa nor Daniel Parejo can hold the ball and again I would reiterate my sound knowledge of the game and say Gago is not a defensive midfielder, but more of a holding/playmaker type who can control proceedings, in fact he is more like Banega than like Albelda or the Albelda types and we saw this with the great ball control and utter domination in the midfield when he was playing. Once Gago was subbed and Parejo came in, we instantly lost the midfield, but the team had the initiative at that time and it wasn't felt that much till the end of the first half.
This is actually not something new or strange, Parejo came in as an attacking midfield and he is not a central midfield and has proven this time and time again. He only played there last season, because Banega was injured and Tino either couldn't play all the matches and he wasn't that much better either.
Now Tino Costa is also an attacking midfielder, though can fit in more in the central role, because he runs more and has better defensive capabilities than Parejo.
Now again instead of blaming the players here, I think this is a coach mistake, as we saw that Parejo is a good player and can be useful to us, just not at the central midfield role, but much more forward. His pass for Feghuoli was great and that is the kind of play that Parejo does, he can not control possession on the other hand.
We also saw that Tino is beneficial as well when playing a good ball controlling midfielder like Gago, as his build-up play was fantastic and that flick to Jonas for the second goal was superb. The problem is that just like Parejo he is not really a central midfielder either.
This brings us to the new coach Pellegrino. He must realize what I'm writing and use the players more in according to their natural positions and not in a way that is not suited to their style of play. We saw how good the team can play in the first half, if we have that midfield cover and how bad we play when we don't have that midfield cover.
I also feel the defense must work on defending from corners as today the defense from corners was terrible. In fact I'd say practice defending from all sort of set-pieces. I mean we saw how unorganized and bad the defense was from these situations, its like looking at a bunch of amateurs in some amateur league defending.
So I just hope Gago does not have a serious injury, because that will be very bad, very bad and I just want Ever Banega to return as soon as possible.

Player Ratings:
Diego 6.5 - Not at fault for any of the goals, he was called to action several times and did very well. Caught a really dangerous shot at the ending stages of the match.
Pereira 5.5 - Started very bright, went forward on every opportunity and provided some great crosses, he was high in my rankings at that point, but then he ruined it all with his lack of clearance on the first Deportivo goal. He should have headed the ball and cleared, he had the chance. Did well later and defended well, but wasn't enough to improve his score.
Costa 5 - What can I say, I thought he did best from all of the other defenders and then he gives away a penalty with a needless foul and needless challenge there. Did well prior to the penalty, but penalty weighs in a lot more.
Ruiz 5 - Star gazing for the second goal, he was supposed to be all over the ball and clear it no problem, but not just him, but the whole defense was just standing there and doing nothing. Closed in after the fact, but it was already too late and Aguilar scored.
Mathieu 6 - Did well going forward and was really dangerous in few forward forays, did pretty well in defense as well, but was also beaten few times and went out of steam later on, forcing Pellegrino to substitute him.
Gago N/A - Did play great for about 20 minutes, then went missing, before being substituted for some sort of an injury I guess.
Tino 6 - Really great while Gago was in the field and provided possession for Tino, he was able to use the possession really creatively and provided some good passes, especially with the flick for Jonas. Second half it was miserable performance.
Feghuoli 6 - Two botched crosses early on, one ruined chance with lack of end product, did score the third goal, but apart from helping out in defense well, that was pretty much his contribution.
Jonas 8 (MotM) - Not to toot my horns, but I did say in my season preview that I expect Jonas to be the key player this season and I was right. Just brilliant performance by him, two amazing assists, intelligent movement and popped up in dangerous positions. Seems the added freedom under Pellegrino works great for him.
Guardado 5.5 - Not very visible and not very threatening. I think Pellegrino might have forced Guardado into the team a bit too soon and against two of the worst opponents he could have faced in Real Madrid and then his former club from just few months ago in Deportivo.
Soldado 7 - Second best player on the night, behind Jonas. Good understanding with Jonas and good team work for the two goals. Had one more chance after being released by who else if not Jonas, but failed to score.
Subs:
Parejo 5 - I give one point for an assist or goal and that was his positive thing that he did, after that it was just negative after negative. From giving the ball away at dangerous positions, to failing to link up play and failing to defend decently.
Rami 5.5 - Did not have enough time to rate him properly, but it did seem like the defense was more controlled and our goal safer with his arrival. Obviously Ruiz instead of improving, he is deteriorating and Rami would likely take his spot.
Barnat 5.5 - Didn't have much time to do much, but he had two good runs and created one chance for the team late on. The jury is still out on him.

Technical Details:

RC Deportivo de la Coruña (3): Aranzubía (German Lux, min. 46); Manuel Pablo, Aythami, Marchena, Evaldo; Juan Domínguez, Abel Aguilar; Bruno Gama, Valerón (Nelson Oliveira, min. 60), Pizzi; Riki (Camuñas, min. 81).

Valencia CF vs Deportivo La Coruna Match Preview

Valencia CF vs Deportivo La Coruna
Stadium: Mestalla
Date: 26.98.2012; 23:00 CET
2nd matchday, La Liga
Coaches: Mauricio Pellegrino and Jose Luis Oltra
Valencia CF
Valencia CF are coming to this match after a hard earned draw against defending Spanish champions Real Madrid and would be looking to win this match to continue on the good starting result. The coach and players know that anything but a win against Deportivo La Coruna would mean the hard fought draw against Real Madrid would have been for nothing.
Valencia CF strengthened the squad this summer with the arrival of few quality new players such as Joao Pereira, Sergio Canales, Andres Guardado who comes from Deportivo La Coruna and was their top players the last few seasons, as well as fresh from the oven signing Aly Cissokho who will compete for the left back slot with Jeremy Mathieu. That said Valencia CF also lost few good players, namely Jordi Alba, Mehet Topal, Aritz Aduriz and right now there is a looming possibility Valencia CF would loose Pablo Hernandez to Swansea AFC. Paco Alcacer future at least for this season is uncertain as well, as he might be loaned out to Getafe CF in order to get more playing time there, though right now its not clear at all what will happen.
With the first and hard obstacle now behind, new Valencia CF coach would be more relaxed and confident coming into this match, after all Valencia CF just drew against Real Madrid and at their home terrain nonetheless. Having done well last match its likely Pellegrino will start with the exact same squad against Deportivo as well, after all why change it if it ain't broken.
One small change he might make is start Daniel Parejo in place of Tino Costa, though that is unlikely as well. Other change might be the possible inclusion of Adil Rami in place of either Costa or Ruiz, though with a match against FC Barcelona coming up just a week later, its likely he will play the same defensive duo in order to get match experience and get accustomed with each other.
Goalkeepers: Diego Alves, Vicente Guaita.
Defenders: Joao Pereira, Rami, Víctor Ruiz, Ricardo Costa, Mathieu.
Midfielders: Albelda, Gago, Parejo, Tino Costa, Feghouli, Bernat, Guardado, Viera.
Forwards: Jonas, Valdez, Soldado.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Line-up: Alves; Pereira, Costa, Ruiz, Mathieu; Gago, Tino; Feghuoli Jonas, Guardado; Soldado.
Tactics: High defensive line, own half pressure, high frequency wing attacks, mixed passing, doubling down in attack.
Deportivo La Coruna
Deportivo La Coruna are coming to this match after a hard fought victory against Osasuna in their first official match of the new season. Deportivo La Coruna just returned from segunda division after finishing first place last season and it was actually Valencia CF that beat Deportivo in their last match 2 seasons ago and send them to the second league. Of course you can't really blame Valencia CF, Emery back then said we are going to play our normal football as we don't want to be unfair to the other teams trying to avoid relegation. So Deportivo La Coruna has only itself to blame for their poor performances over that season, although I know the last match always sticks in everybody's head, so I guess Deportivo is going to want a revenge against Valencia CF.
Another reason and one more current why Deportivo La Coruna might want revenge is the loss of Andres Guardado to Valencia CF. Valencia CF reached out to Guardado last year and reached a personal agreement with the player, he rejected offers for renewal with Deportivo La Coruna and signed for Valencia CF this summer as a free agent. So in that sense they might want to inflict some serious pain to Valencia CF by beating them this weekend and getting a double revenge.
One of the more recognizable names that they also lost on a free transfer is Diego Colotto, though they did get Andre Santos on a loan deal from Sporting, Nelson Oliveira from Benfica for about 600k euros and former Valencia CF defender Carlos Marchena on a free transfer from Villarreal. They've done pretty good in the transfer market this season for their objectives this season, which would be to avoid relegation.
Deportivo coach Jose is likely to field the exact same squad he fielded against Osasuna that won him that match 2-0, I haven't heard about any injuries so I expect the same squad, with possibly Nelson Oliveira starting instead of Riki.
Deportivo La Coruna squad:
Goalkeepers: Daniel Aranzubia, German Lux.
Defenders: Manuel Pablo, Marchena, Aythami, Evaldo, Ayoze.
Midfielders: André Santos, Álex Bergantiños, Juan Dominguez, Abel Aguilar Bruno Gama, Pizzi, Camuñas, Valerón
Forwards: Riki and Nélson Oliveira
Technical Details Deportivo La Coruna (probable setups):
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Line-up: Aranzubia; Pablo, Marchena, Aythami, Evaldo; Juan, Aguilar; Bruno, Valeron, Pizzi; Oliveira.
Tactics: Low defensive line, own half pressure, counter attacks, mostly long passing, doubling down defense.
Result Prediction:
Valencia CF 2-0 Deportivo La Coruna
Valencia CF had a good start to the season with a draw against Real at the Bernabeu, so the team will like to build on that result and get the 3 points, especially since the team plays its first match in the new season in front of their own fans at the Mestalla. That said Deportivo La Coruna would like to continue the good start as well and get at least a draw at their visit to the Mestalla, possibly stun Valencia CF on the counter attack.
Valencia CF has a lot of quality and talent and with the left wing strengthened by former Deportivo player Guardado we should expect a win here. We still haven't seen what the team is capable off and this is an opportunity to show us. I expect Valencia CF to score two goals, one by Soldado and one by Guardado, while defending nicely any counter attacks Deportivo tries.

Aly Cissokho arrives in Valencia
New Valencia CF signing Aly Cissokho arrived in Valencia this morning by plane, met with the usual Valencia CF staff and did the medical exam which he passed with flying colors.
Aly Cissokho will be presented as new Valencia CF player this evening at 18:00O'clock.
For those that don't know Aly Cissokho was a Lyon player, he arrived to Lyon from Porto and soon established himself as the main player on the left back position, playing over 90 matches in 3 years just in the French league. Overall he's played over 110 matches total, including over 20 matches in the Champions League.
He is also still young, only 24 years old and comes at the perfect time to Valencia CF, I believe he has yet to reach his full potential and in many ways is better than Jordi Alba. He is certainly stronger, more physical and more defense minded than Alba.

Official: Aly Cissokho joins Valencia CF
Its official, Valencia CF and Olympique Lyon have reached an agreement for the transfer of Aly Cissokho and the players is expected to come to Valencia in the next few days, complete the medical exam and sign a 4 year deal with Valencia CF.
Aly Cissokho deal finished according to radio Montecarlo
According to French radio station Montecarlo, Aly Cissokho will become a Valencia CF player in the next few hours. They claim the negotiations are in the closing stages and that the transfer fee is around 6 million euros.
Now I've reported this few days ago, but my sources are the transfer fee is 7 million euros and the hold up was with some of the details, like the time table for the fee and things of that nature.
But if the deal is to finish in the next few hours, we are going to officially find out the transfer fee.

Paco Alcacer on loan to Getafe?
Latest reports have it that after all Paco Alcacer will go on a season year loan and the club he will join is Getafe.
Valencia CF has done really good with some loans, like Pablo for example and so I guess they are thinking along those same lines.
Mauricio Pellegrino just earlier this month said Paco will stay and that he counts on him, but I guess with the arrival of Nelson Valdez that has changed all of a sudden.
I mean I don't have an opinion on this, it might leave us short on attackers at some point, but then it all depends on how much playing time will Paco get and one would think he would get more playing time in Getafe, but that may not necessarily be true.
Ultimately I want what is best for Paco development, so he can become a first class player for Valencia CF, but the question is where will he develop better?
What do you think about this? Post your thoughts in the comments section or in the forum.

FC Barcelona will destroy Real Madrid
You may all remember my article last season "Valencia CF will destroy FC Barcelona", well now it has nothing to do with Valencia CF, I'm posting this as an analysis of this season's league and which one of the two title contenders is better and I'm sorry to Real Madrid fan-boys, but its Barcelona.
I've carefully watched this season's preseason to Valencia CF biggest rivals and so I know everything I need to know about FC Barcelona and Real Madrid to predict who will come out on top and destroy the other.
First of all the big loss Real Madrid suffered at the start of the preseason against Benfica of 5-2, now you might say well that was only the first match and Benfica were more fix, but that would be an excuse and not an argument. Fact is Real Madrid were training way before that first preseason match and with the team being the same from last season there was no squad shuffling to cause disturbances. Now Real Madrid did went to on win against Milan and beat them 5-1, but this was a misleading result as Milan not only is considerably weaker this season, but they also played with their second team in the second half and their bench is considerably weaker than Real Madrid bench. Now this is not an excuse for Milan, but in a competitive environment we got to understand that Milan will be playing with their first eleven squad, except for injuries of course or some tactical changes.
If you've watched the rest of the matches they were good, but I'd say pretty average as well, whether it was from lack of fitness or lack of form or lack of freshness I don't know, but Real Madrid missed something and we also saw it against a rather mediocre Valencia CF side that is with a new coach, several new players and under new directive and tactics. Valencia CF can play at least 2x times better than they played against Real Madrid and they've shown it countless time, so even against a weak Valencia CF, Real Madrid misfired.
Now Barcelona is past their prime, but what was proven by the Euro 2012 cup is that Barcelona can still grind out wins if they have to and if Xavi is kept rest and not have to play most of the matches he can still reach his full potential. Last season I knew that won't be the case, because I knew Fabregas isn't the type of player to replace him and Thiago was too young, but now with the signing of Alexandre Song from Arsenal, Barcelona can give Xavi rest in key moments and have him fully fresh for the important matches. Now in case some Barcelona fans do some venting, I know Song is rather a replacement for Keita, but that still doesn't change the fact that Song can play in Xavi's position and is a great providing assists as well, having well over 10 assists last season and is a great passes as well, he is also not very fast so in essence a Xavi type player, without the positional awareness of Xavi.
David Villa who while I still consider past his prime, still has the goal scoring instincts and technique as shown in his first official match since his injury, so he can be a real joker for Barcelona, even though I don't see him being a big goalscorer.
Barcelona is also more complete now and has more depth, as some of the B team players from last season have had experience and have been enough with the first team to be able to step up and they are not likely to have the injuries that plagued them last season, like David Villa, Pedro, Affelay, Xavi, Puyol and Abidal injuries.
Now FC Barcelona has not had a good preseason either, but with a new coach, with players just coming from injury, with most players being key figures in national teams they've had a bit rougher summer than Real Madrid and went against better opponents in PSG as well as Manchester United.
To jump back to Real Madrid, the squad hasn't changed at all from last season and while that can be an advantage it can also be a huge disadvantage, especially of what can be called the winners syndrome, where after winning a title after a long wait it goes to your head and players tend to be overconfident and under-motivated. I mean Inter can really attest to this and while its not the same and Inter had a lot more aging squad and a big coach change, we've seen it happen with many sides over the history of football basically.
Not only that, but Real Madrid standard starting eleven has started more matches than any other team. Even with a deep squad of very quality players Jose Mourinho has relied way too much on the same players and that is Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Ozil and Cristiano Ronaldo. Add to this that the Euro 2012 was this summer and all of them played key roles in their national teams and went pretty fast as well and you have a mixture of over played players, who are not fully fresh and not fully fit at the same time, who are suffering from the winners syndrome and are likely to have less motivation because they've just played too much over a period of time and are not 'hungry' for more.
Now we have the Super Copa coming between these two teams and I'm prediction that Barcelona will win if they play their first team players, but both teams have said this is in the back of their minds and won't take the cup too seriously. So whoever wins its not likely to tell us much, but its going to be a nice prelude into what is going to happen.
Now all this said Real Madrid to have huge amount of talent and can come back, but they are really going to struggle in the first two months and are likely to loose big ground to Barcelona and even if they come back strong later I'm afraid its going to be an uphill battle that they won't be able to win.
Now you can make your own conclusions and observations, but I wouldn't bet against me as I have a pretty darn good track record of calling these things.

Poll Results
I've posted a new poll on the side there and after few days I think the trend is clear to know where the wind blows.
First place is "Just more articles on average" and thus I'd try and write more articles, which I've already started since 2 days ago. I actually usually wait for some bigger news, not to write small articles or insignificant articles, but now I guess I'll write the smaller stories as well.
Second place was pics of semi-naked girls posing in Spanish teams dresses, so obviously great interest in that, but I'll only do what was first place and maybe do few text interviews starting from next month.

LFP management sucks and Guardado gets Spanish citizenship
Second of all its really bad for the players, as at that time they will get sleepy, they wake up in the morning at 8 or 9 O'clock and they are supposed to play 90 minutes past midnight?
I'm calling out the LFP, the La Liga management and calling out this nonsense. I'm calling for the immediate resignation of LFP president José Luis Astiazarán. He needs to be pressured to leave right now and never be hired anywhere close to football the rest of his life. I don't know what kind of drugs he is taking, but I don't want any of it and nor do the players, Valencia fans in the city or European fans and its still not a good time for US either, most are at work then.
So it is just ridiculous that teams are being forced to play at this crazy time and it ain't funny and Spanish teams need to protest, but to protest this time slot. This is of course on top of the fact that there is also a 11:00 O'clock time which is very early in the morning, none of the other leagues have this crap to deal with.
Now in other news Andres Guardado just got his Spanish citizenship. He went in today at Madrid to swear on the Spanish constitution basically after which point was awarded his Spanish citizenship. With this Valencia CF is back with 3 non EU players, which is a rule that only 3 players not from EU can play. I don't particularly like this, it just means more players will be taking Spanish citizenship's and avoid the rule that way, but that's what rocks the LFP's boat and we all know how great they are.

Aly Cissokho close to Valencia CF and more news
Aly Cissokho agent Abrizio Ferrari commented in the French media that in the next few days there is a big chance Aly Cissokho will become a new Valencia CF member, as the player and Valencia CF have reached an agreement and now only the clubs negotiate for the transfer fee, with Lyon demanding 8 million euros and Valencia CF offering 7 million euros.
His agent said that several more clubs were interested in the players services including Juventus from Italy, but Valencia CF was the fastest and most resolved to get him.
So expect Aly Cissokho to sign for Valencia CF very soon as Valencia are not likely to miss this opportunity and bid 8 million euros to get him.
In other news Valencia CF sporting director Braulio Vasquez reiterated once again that Juan Bernat is not for sale as he spoke with Juan's agent and said Valencia CF already rejected few offers for Juan Bernat.
Then there is Pablo Hernandez who is itching to leave and has once more reiterated to the Valencia CF staff that he wants to leave. Valencia CF is willing to sell Pablo Hernandez to Swancea City AFC, but only at the right price and would not listen to any offers bellow 6 million euros. I actually have Pablo Hernandez worth 8 million euros in my evaluation, so anything less than that actually is a rather poor deal. He is still worth that much, no matter how much he wants to leave.

Valencia CF season 2012/13 preview
Valencia CF season 2012/13 preview
Transfers:
Valencia CF was very active in the transfer window this summer, with players going out and new players coming in. Valencia CF also had a coach change with Unai Emery leaving and going to coach Spartak Moscow and former Valencia CF player Mauricio Pellegrino becoming the new coach.
The biggest loss for Valencia CF is probably Jordi Alba as he was the breakout star from the previous season and thus got the attention of Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Performing great at the Euro 2012 didn't help keep him at Valencia CF and he was determined to leave, so Valencia CF had no option than to get as much as it can from his sale. He was ultimately sold for 15 million euros to Barcelona, they tried to include Paco in the deal as well, but Valencia CF would have none of it.
Probably the second biggest name to leave was Mehmet Topal who had two very good season at Valencia CF and was a key player in the midfield, where he swapped with David Albelda for starting position. He was sold for 4.5 million euros to Fenerbahce, at least 2 million euros bellow his market value.
Others who left are Hedwiges Maduro who left for Sevilla, Dealbert who joined Kuban Krasondar, Aritz Aduriz who joined Athletic Bilbao, Michel Herrero who joined Valencia CF neighbors Levante and just recently Chori Dominguez canceled his contract with Valencia CF and went on to join Rayo Vallecano as a free agent.
Overall Valencia CF racked up 22 million euros from the sale of players, mainly most of the money came from the Jordi Alba sale. So far Valencia CF has only spend 17.5 million euros on purchases and has at least 7 million euros that it can spend for a left back.
Valencia CF didn't have any big signings this summer and all of the purchases were cheap options and steals. That said Valencia CF got some pretty good players, mainly because Valencia CF looks to be smart at the market and find players who have only only one year left of contract to lure them in and get them on the cheap or work before hand, try and get personal agreements with the players and work to sign them long before the transfer market opens.
Coming as a third goalkeeper is Felipe Ramos, though he is going to mainly feature for the B team, he will cover when one of the two main goalkeepers are injured, like in this case Guaita.
For the defense we only brought in Joao Pereira and apart from him we haven't brought anyone really, the team purchased Alex Quiantilla, but he is mostly for the B team as well and is more of a defensive midfielder that can also play in defense. He is going to be called upon only when some of the defenders are injured or can't play, but even then we might see Pardo ahead of him.
Joao Pereira is the new right back, he comes for a 3.5 million euros from Sporting Lisbon and judging by his Euro 2012 performance he is a reliable right back and is a good purchase.
Valencia CF is still negotiating with Lyon over the transfer of Aly Cissokho, but I expect the transfer to be finalized very soon.
In the midfield area we signed Andres Guardado who comes from Deportivo La Coruno as a free agent as his contract expired and has signed a 5 years deals with Valencia CF. He is a very talented player, who still has room to grow and we can expect him to be an improvement at left wing over what Mathieu and Alba were last season.
Fernando Gago was brought in as a defensive midfielder, he comes from Real Madrid for a fee of 4 million euros, in the deal was also included Sergio Canales, so Valencia CF basically got 2 players for the price of 11.5 million euros, pretty good business there.
The new signings in attack for Valencia CF are Jonathan Viera who comes from UD Las Palmas for a 2.5 million euros fee, a real talent, touted by many as the new Silva and certainly he has proven his talent in preseason and I expect him to be a huge star for Valencia CF very soon and Nelson Valdez who comes on a 1 year loan dead from Rubin Kazan.
Preseason Report:
The fist preseason match was against German outfit Eintracht Braunschweig who play in the second division in the Bundesliga. This was also Valencia CF new coach Mauricio Pellegrino his first game in charge of Valencia CF, or any other team for that matter, as he was always an assistant coach under former Valencia CF coach Rafael Benitez. Valencia CF drew 1-1 with them and there was no transmission of the match to see how the team played.
Second match was against SV Rodinghausen which Valencia CF beat 2-1 and according to some media the play was pretty good and some of the youngsters showed real progress.
Third match was a walkover against Arminia Bielefeld who are basically 3rd division Dutch club and nothing less than a big victory would have been disappointing. In this match Jonathan Viera really shone, providing 2 assists and having a big influence in the attacking third.
Fourth match was against Portugal giants Porto and was played for the trophy that Valencia CF awards, or Orange Trophy or in Spanish Trofeu Naranja. The match was pretty interesting, also very equal and Parejo did pretty well in midfield, controlling the match for most of the time. Standard time finished 1-1, but Valencia CF won on penalties after Diego Alves did some pretty amazing saves and Porto failed to score 4 times.
Fifth match was against Indonesia, the club went there as a big sponsor opportunity and to advertise the team more to the Asian market and it was a big success. As it turns out tens of millions followed the match and also an entertainment show that hosted Soldado, Jonas and one more. I have quite a bit of visitors from there as well, though haven't see an increase since Valencia CF went there. Anyways the team won that match 5-0.
Next match Valencia CF won 2-0 over Tottenham at the Mestalla. Pellegrino called this match a real test for Valencia CF and said he is taking it seriously and the team would show its strengths at this match. The play wasn't that great and Tottenham did have more possession and chances, but Valencia CF defended strongly and took its chances.
Final match was against Eintracht Frankfurt where Valencia CF lost 4-2. It was a surprise loss, but Pellegrino played most second team and B team players so the result wasn't that surprising, especially knowing the back line was mostly B team as well as the unfit Rami.
System and players:
New Valencia CF coach Mauricio Pellegrino said that he wasn't interested in formations and systems, but about concepts and that he'd like Valencia CF be really tight defensively and improve in attack, especially on the sides.
He continued using the same 4-2-3-1 system Unai Emery was using ever since he came as a coach. So the formation will be 4-2-3-1 this season as well, with pretty much the same squad from last year, with only few changes.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Starting 11: Guaita/Diego; Pereira, Rami, Costa, Mathieu; Gago, Tino/Ever; Feghuoli, Jonas, Guardado; Soldado.
Lets start from the back and go from there. Vicente Guaita and Diego Alves will be battling out for the starting position. Guaita was the favorite for the starting eleven this season as well, but with his injury Diego gets a chance and he did great against Real Madrid and if he keeps the same level, its likely that he will become the starting goalkeeper, although its likely that both goalkeepers will rotate quite a bit. But Valencia CF is lucky to have two top quality keepers and we are set in this department.
In defense we have Joao Pereira and Antonio Barragan that will battle for the right back position, with Joao Pereira having the advantage as he is more experienced, played in a more competitive environment for a long time and overall seems the better player, but Barragan may give him a challenge if he keeps improving.
In central defense we have Rami, Costa and Ruiz and these will be battling for starting position. Adil Rami was really bad in the last preseason match against a way weaker opposition, so its likely well see Ricardo Costa and Victor Ruiz be the defensive duo for the first 3 matches and then I can see Rami getting a chance and fighting mostly with Ruiz for starting position, as Costa is pretty solid and seems to improve with age.
Jeremy Mathieu is the only natural left back and has been great for the whole preseason. He has great attacking skills and always supports the attacking players, but can defend really well as well as he has great acceleration and speed. Last year he changed places and positions with Alba, but so far this season he doesn't have a competition on his position, although Valencia CF is working on getting Aly Cissokho.
In midfield we have the reliable veteran David Albelda who will be covering the defensive midfield slot and new signing Fernando Gago that is likely to overtake Albelda for the DM slot, as the veteran is probably in his last year as a player.
Slightly further forward we have Alberto Tino Costa, Ever Banega and Daniel Parejo who will be competing for the central midfield slot. Right now Tino Costa is in the starting position just because he has more experience than Daniel Parejo and Ever Banega is injured, after he broke his bone last season on his leg and is still recovering. But once he is fully fit and has had enough training, he is likely to slowly but surely overtake Tino Costa in the starting position as CM. Ever Banega was a real threat last season and with him on the team Valencia CF went on to win most of the matches in the first half of the season, slowing down considerably though when he got injured.
On the right side we have Sofiane Feghuoli who is going to be the started and back-up Pablo Hernandez who may actually leave soon for Swancea City AFC, though we'll see how that goes. Last season both players were very useful and between them had about 20 assists and 10 goals. Pretty equal in skill, but Feghuoli was more consistent and so for that he will take the starting position. You always have Piatti who can play pretty much anywhere, from right wing, left wing, attacking midfield to striker. So he could also be used on the right wing sometimes, although he is likely to be more of a back-up to Guarado on the left wing.
On the left wing as I already mentioned we have Andres Guardado who will be undisputed starter as there is weak competition for that side, coming mostly from Piatti, we also have Juan Bernat, but he is likely at least 2 more years from any kind of decent involvement in the first team.
We have 2 natural attacking midfielders in Sergio Canales and Jonathan Viera, but Jonas Goncalves has really made that position his own and is likely to be starter there for most of the matches, except when Valencia CF play 4-4-2 and he starts as a second striker. Canales and Viera are likely to get matches in the Copa Del Rey, the team has depth, so we can see a completely different side in that competition, though Canales is likely to play as an AM against weaker opponents and of course if he recovers well. He did have the same long injury twice, so we'll have to wait and see how he recovers.
In attack we have the undisputed starter Roberto Soldado, our recent loan signing Nelson Valdez as a direct back-up to Soldado and then we have youth player Paco Alcacer, though Pellegrino will probably take his time with him and is not likely to start in many matches.
Overall this is going to be an exciting season once again and I know I say that every season, but with a new coach, squad reshuffling and some interesting happenings with the competition, this is going to be a season to follow. I have the same expectations I had last season and that is to finish 3rd place in La Liga, reach the last 16 in the Champions League and go till the semi-final in Copa Del Rey. Anything else will be a bonus and while I would want to think we can do it, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than majorly disappointed.

Real Madrid 1-1 Valencia CF Match report
First match of the season and Valencia CF is off to a great start, drawing against last season's champions Real Madrid at their home stadium and in the first match of the season. Even though it didn't look like it found finish in a draw, Valencia CF managed to fight off Real Madrid attacks and secure a draw which is a great result for us.
The match started in a normal fashion with Real Madrid as the home team having the initiative and a little bit more of the ball possession. First minutes were played seizing out the opposition with both sides fighting mostly at the middle of the pitch.
Real Madrid would ramp out the pressure though and instantly got off to a flying start as Gonzalo Higuain would score a goal in the 10th minute after a nice cross by Di Maria put him through alone on goal and Ruiz and messed up thinking he could catch him in offside position. But the goal wasn't to come that easy, as Gonzalo needed 3 shots to finally put the ball in the net, as the first two shots were block by Diego Alves, but the rebound went to Higuain three times.
Having scored a goal Real Madrid seemed comfortable in possession, a little too comfortable I would say as they failed to really push their advantage.
Feghuoli would have a decent chance for Valencia CF at the 22nd minute as he tried to shoot, but ultimately failed.
Real Madrid would continue the attacks and would get a pretty good chance in the 34th minute as Ruiz was slow closing down again and would allow Madrid with an opportunity, but Coentrao who shoots, but sees his effort deflected into the side-netting.
Valencia CF would punish Real Madrid for their lack of intent and in the 42nd minute Jonas scores a goal, a header, after a free kick by Tino Costa. Iker Cassilas and Pepe misjudged the flight on the ball and fled into each other, leaving Jonas unmarked to head the ball in the net. Luckilly for Real Madrid both continued the match after some fast medical help, but Pepe was replaced in the second half for Albiol.
Roberto Soldado would score, but the goal won't stand for long after the line referee rules offside, even though by the not so good camera work it seemed like Soldado was at least half a meter before the last Real Madrid defender.
Real Madrid would have a chance to score in the 59th minute as Higuain shoots, but the shot is poor as he fails to hit the ball fully and the ball reaches Ozil, forcing the offside.
61st minute Joao Pereira is beaten by his countrymen Ronaldo, Ronaldo crosses dangerously low, but Costa is in the right place and clears the danger.
Real Madrid would have another chance just minutes later as a bad intervention by Diego Alves gives Real Madrid a chance, but Ruiz was faster than Higuain there and managed to clear the ball for the penalty area. As the action continues from the middle after the clearance by Ruiz Coentrao I think crosses the ball superbly to Higuain, he shoots, but the ball hits the bar and Valencia CF escape by the luck of the draw.
Minute later Ozil would also get a chance on goal and he shoots on goal, but Alves saves.
After a bit of a down time and plays in the middle, with both sides doing substitutions the new substitute for Real Benzema gets in a dangerous position with the ball, shoots, but Diego is well positioned again and saves.
Real Madrid would have one final chance in the 82nd minute as Callejon shoots at goal, after a good pass by Ronaldo, but once again Alves saves.
After that the game was a bit hectic till the end, but no side had any significant chances and Valencia CF managed to close out the game in a draw, which is a great result for Valencia CF and a bad result by Real Madrid.
Technical Details:
R. Madrid (1): Casillas, Pepe (Albiol, min. 46), Ramos, Coentrao, Ronaldo, Ozil, Alonso, Arbeloa, Higuaín, Di María (Callejón, min. 70) y Lass (Benzema, min. 62).
Valencia CF (1): Alves, Gago, Jonas, Feghouli (Valdez, min. 80), Soldado (Parejo, min. 70), Joao Pereira, Guardado (Piatti, min. 65), V. Ruiz, R. Costa, Mathieu y Tino Costa.
Goals: 10min, 1-0 Higuain; 42min, 1-1 Jonas
Player Ratings:
Diego (MotM) 7.5 - Fantastic performance by Diego Alves as he has dozen good saves and managed to defend 2 times on Higuains goal, but he was let down by the defense on that one in the first place.
Pereira 5 - Mixed bad performance. Started quite weak as his marking was quite off and wasn't involved in attack at all, improved later on and made some good interventions, but again he lacked in the marking department and was beaten few times.
Costa 7 - Calming presence in front of goal and he was a solid rock at the back, really showing Ruiz how to defend. Seems to become better with age.
Ruiz 4.5 - At fault for the first goal, allowed Higuain and Coentrao chances to score and while he improved later on and had few good interventions, it was not enough.
Mathieu 6.5 - Managed to restrain Di Maria for most of the time, was not supposed to mark Di Maria for the first goal and was further back, did few good runs in attack, but he obviously lacks communication with Guarado.
Gago 6 - Decent first match for Gago, was good all around with passing and defending, had few good interventions at the back and linked up well with Tino, considering they haven't played together much at all.
Tino 6 - Provided the assist to Jonas goal and was generally a nuisance to Real Madrid midfield as he ran a lot and covered a lot of ground, but couldn't impose himself on the game in more meaningful way, apart from the assist.
Feghuoli 5 - Seemed quite tired for his first match of the season. Last year he was one of the biggest runners, but he seemed out of steam throughout this whole match. Rather poor performance overall.
Jonas 6.5 - Scored the goal for Valencia CF, was not involved too much, but provide some good dangerous passes and would be happy to score the crucial goal for a draw.
Guardado 4.5 - Really lacked any intent and seemed afraid by the importance of the match. Had few decent runs, but couldn't provide the final ball and had suspect decisions like failing to pass quickly to Feghuoli and waiting until he was offside to then pass.
Soldado 5 - Issolated for most of the match, the one time where he got an opportunity he scored, but the referee deemed it offside, even though it looked like he was onside.
Subs:
Piatti 5 - Did not have any significant impact and apart from few short runs that he couldn't finish because no one else was there, he could not do much.
Parejo 5 - Did brings some more stability in the ranks for few minutes and tried some wild passed to get something going, but none payed off and ended up mostly defending.
Valdez 5.5 - Didn't have time to do anything of significance, but I liked his spirit and he seemed really determined and run the whole time after he went in, almost having one opportunity late in the game.

Real Madrid vs Valencia CF Match Preview

Real Madrid vs Valencia CF
Stadium: Santiago Bernabeu
Coach: Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pellegrino
Date: 19.08.2012; 19:00 CET
Its that of the year again as the new season starts and Valencia CF goes up against last year's league champions Real Madrid in the first game of the season. The luck of the draw couldn't have been harder for Valencia CF for the opening 3 games, going against Real Madrid first, week later Deportivo La Coruna and then FC Barcelona. Of course this could mean easier finish, though that is not true as we go against Sevilla in the last of the matches.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid are the defending champions from last season and they will be looking to add some more trophy's and start this season with a win to put them on a good momentum which is very important these days for the battle for the title against Barcelona as every point in the later stages counts.Real Madrid are certainly the favorites to win the title again this season as they have the core team from last season with possibly one new addition in Luka Modric from Tottenham, but the team has grown and some new and youth players could break through. Luka Modric didn't feature yesterday for Tottenham so he is likely very close to joining Real Madrid and is probably going to serve as a backup to Xabi as their central midfield is already packed.
Real Madrid had a good preseason as they won all but one of their matches, against Benfica they suffered a surprising and large loss of 5-2. After that though it was all straight wins, beating Milan 5-1 in the process. Players like Kaka and Di Maria and Nuri Sahin also fully fit, after struggling with injuries for long parts, they will be ready to battle to prove themselves, unless Sahin leaves of course which there are still rumors that he may.
Real Madrid Squad:
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Line-up: Casillas; Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao; Xabi, Khedira; Di Maria, Kaka, Ronaldo; Benzema.
Valencia CF
Valencia CF are the defending "champions" from the second tier, second league within La Liga and third season in a row Valencia CF is the "champions". Realistically its only 3rd place, which is a good result no doubt, but the top two clubs are so much better that in the past several years it has been a two horse races and the points difference between second and third 30 points.Valencia CF broke ties with Unai Emery at the end of last season on a good note, as he went on to coach Spartak Moscow and Valencia CF brought in former player and one of the best defenders at Valencia CF Mauricio Pellegrino, who was assistant coach to Rafael Benitez at Inter and then previously Liverpool. So while he doesn't have too much experience leading a team, he knows how to coach and has also worked with many coaches in his career as a player for Valencia CF. He also brings that champions mentality the team had when they were finalists in the Champions league and winning La Liga.
Valencia CF strengthened significantly this season with some great signings, but also lost several good players as well, like Jordi Alba who transferred to our rival Barcelona, Topal who went back to Turkey as he missed his home, Aduriz who went to Bilbao and so on.
While we lost players we also got some as well, Valencia CF managed to capture a rising star, a huge talent who is considered the successor to Silva in Jonathan Viera for only 2.5 million euros. Andres Guardado joined Valencia CF from Deportivo as a free agent after he refused to extend his contract with Deportivo and signed for Valencia CF. Valencia CF looked long and hard at a right back and at the end we ended up with the cheaper option in Joao Pereira, but judging from the Euro 2012 it turned out we made a great decision as he showed he is a secure defender and consistent in his form.
We also bought Fernando Gago from Real Madrid and bought Sergio Canales in a deal that featured both of them and just few days ago we also brought in a new attacker Nelson Valdez who comes in as a back-up to Roberto Soldado as the coach gives Paco time to mature.
Valencia CF preseason was very good, with a bit of a surprising loss at the end there, but ultimately it was a good preseason with good results and we won the most important match of the preseason the match against Tottenham. In the preseason Viera really shone and showed off his talent multiple times, finding some amazing passes that resulted in goals and in the very near future he will turn into a star. Paco also showed signs of his talent and Jonas confirmed that he is going to be a very important player for Valencia CF this season.

Formation: 4-2-3-1
Line-up: Diego; Pereira, R. Costa, Ruiz, Mathieu; Gago, Tino; Feghuoli, Jonas, Guardado; Soldado
Result Prediction:
Real Madrid 2-1 Valencia CF
We must admit to our-self that Real Madrid are realistically the better team and with such talent as Cristiano Ronaldo, Di Maria, Ozil, Benzema already at such a high level and playing all the time reaching their potential we only have developing talent like Viera, Canales, Guarado, Bernat and Paco some of which may need at least 2 more years to develop and be ready.
The one thing going in Valencia CF favor is the international friendlies that were played as Real Madrid had a lot more players go and many of them played so that would make them slightly more tired, though we had quite a few players go with their national teams as well.
Both teams had very good preseasons so we can't give the advantage to any club from the preseason, so taking all into account, the home terrain for Real, the fact that they are the more stable team as Valencia CF changed coaches this summer and we had a lot more players leaving and coming, Real Madrid is likely to win this match, although I'm not giving them a huge advantage and expect them to win 2-1.
